SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Barbara J. Williams of Springfield, who
4passed away on July 30, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Barbara Williams was born in Gould, Arkansas; she
6was the youngest daughter of Lottie Avery Dunlap and Richard
7Dunlap Sr.; she married Robert Lloyd Williams, Sr. in 1958; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Barbara Williams received the majority of her
9education in Pine Bluff, Arkansas before graduating from
10Feitshans High School in Springfield; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Barbara Williams was employed by Horace Mann
12Insurance Company for many years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Barbara Williams was a member of the Monroe Street
14Christian Church, where she served on the ushers/greeters
15board; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Barbara Williams was preceded in death by her
17parents; her daughter, Sandra K. Williams-Young; her sisters,
18Leanna, Annabelle, Irene, and Dossie Lee Dunlap; her brothers,
19Sid, Alex, Richard, Ulyses, and Eddie Dunlap; and her nieces,
20Willie Mae Jones and Erma Jean Cole; and

1    WHEREAS, Barbara Williams is survived by her daughters,
2Debra Williams-Tinsley, Letitia Williams, and Sharon D.
3Williams (fiance, Justin Coleman); her sons, Aundra (Ann)
4Williams, Steven (Martha) Williams, and Robert (Sherry)
5Williams; her sister, Ossie (O.C.) Dockett; her brother, John
6Dunlap; her 21 grandchildren; her 8 great-grandchildren; her
7many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and her special
8companion, Ralph McCrary; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11her family and friends, the passing of Barbara J. Williams; and
12be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Barbara Williams as an expression of
15our sympathy.
