| AN ACT concerning vehicles.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 |
| Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by changing |
5 |
| Section 11-1420 as follows:
|

| Sec. 11-1420. Funeral processions.
|
8 |
| (a) Funeral processions processions have the right-of-way |
9 |
| at intersections when
vehicles comprising such procession have |
10 |
| their headlights lighted,
subject
to the following conditions |
11 |
| and exceptions:
|
12 |
| 1. Operators of vehicles in a funeral procession shall |
13 |
| yield the
right-of-way upon the approach of an authorized |
14 |
| emergency vehicle giving an
audible or visible signal;
|
15 |
| 2. Operators of vehicles in a funeral procession shall |
16 |
| yield the
right-of-way when directed to do so by a traffic |
17 |
| officer;
|
18 |
| 3. The operator of the leading vehicle in a funeral |
19 |
| procession shall
comply with stop signs and traffic control |
20 |
| signals but when the leading
vehicle has proceeded across |
21 |
| an intersection in accordance with such signal
or after |
22 |
| stopping as required by the stop sign, all vehicles in such
|
23 |
| procession may proceed without stopping, regardless of the |
