2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Liam Nioclas Kelly on | ||||||
4 | being ordained into the priesthood of the Evangelical Catholic | ||||||
5 | Diocese of the Northwest; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Liam Nioclas Kelly, the eldest son of William | ||||||
7 | Kelly and Marie O'Carroll Kelly, was born in Belfast, Ireland | ||||||
8 | on March 2, 1976; as a child he attended Saint Bride's Primary | ||||||
9 | School and Saint Malachi High School and College; he began his | ||||||
10 | journey with
the Dominican Order in Ireland; in 1998, Liam | ||||||
11 | Nioclas received his Diploma in Theology from the Dominican | ||||||
12 | House of Studies in Tallaght, and in 2001, he received a | ||||||
13 | Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics and Philosophy from the | ||||||
14 | National University of Ireland in Maynooth and a Bachelors in | ||||||
15 | Philosophy from the Pontifical University of Saint Patrick, | ||||||
16 | also in Maynooth; in 2002, Liam Nioclas received a Masters in | ||||||
17 | Art History from the Courtauld Institute of Art; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, In 2002, Liam Nioclas chose to make the United | ||||||
19 | States his adopted home and arrived in the City of Chicago, | ||||||
20 | where he became a resident of the 14th Representative District | ||||||
21 | in the State or Illinois; and
| ||||||
22 | WHEREAS, In 2002, Liam Nioclas became a Research Scholar |

1 | Professor at The Martin D'Arcy Museum of Art at the Lake Shore | ||||||
2 | Campus of Loyola University, a position he held until 2004; | ||||||
3 | from 2002 until 2003, he was also a Research Scholar in the | ||||||
4 | Department of Rare Books and Manuscripts at the Newberry | ||||||
5 | Library of Chicago, examining, translating, and cataloguing | ||||||
6 | Medieval liturgical manuscripts; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, From 2002 until 2005 Liam Nioclas served as an | ||||||
8 | Immigration Law Consultant for the Chicago Irish Immigrant | ||||||
9 | Support Office in Chicago; in 2005, he chose to continue his | ||||||
10 | spiritual journey within the Evangelical Catholic
Church and | ||||||
11 | became a member of Mission Church of the Holy Family in | ||||||
12 | Chicago; on May 13, 2006; he was ordained to the Order of | ||||||
13 | Deacon for the Evangelical Catholic Diocese of the Northwest; | ||||||
14 | and | ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Liam Nioclas has served as Chaplain at Kindred | ||||||
16 | Hospital North in Chicago; on September 29, 2007, the Feast of | ||||||
17 | Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, Liam Nioclas Kelly will | ||||||
18 | be ordained Priest for the Evangelical Catholic Diocese of the | ||||||
19 | Northwest by Bishop James Alan Wilkowski; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Upon his ordination to the Priesthood, Father Liam | ||||||
21 | Nioclas Kelly shall be appointed by his Bishop as Rector of the | ||||||
22 | Mission Church of the Holy Family and as Vicar-General for the | ||||||
23 | Diocese of the Northwest, while continuing to serve as Chaplain |

1 | at Kindred Hospital North; therefore, be it
| ||||||
2 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
3 | NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
4 | congratulate Liam Nioclas Kelly on his ordination into the | ||||||
5 | priesthood; and be it further

6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented to Liam Nioclas Kelly as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
8 | esteem.
