| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 |
| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Earl |
4 |
| Struck of Springfield, who passed away on August 7, 2007; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Earl Struck was born on September 30, 1943, in |
6 |
| Murphysboro; he was the son of William John and Goldia Wayman |
7 |
| Struck; he married Sherry Winn on July 9, 1976, in Normal; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Earl Struck graduated from Eastern Illinois |
9 |
| University with a bachelor's degree in Business |
10 |
| Administration; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, Earl Struck was President and chief executive |
12 |
| officer of the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives; |
13 |
| in his position as President and CEO, Mr. Struck directed a |
14 |
| staff of professional and support personnel that provide |
15 |
| specialized utility service to the 24 not-for-profit electric |
16 |
| distribution cooperatives and two generation and transmission |
17 |
| cooperatives operating in Illinois; with more than 54,117 miles |
18 |
| of line, the Association's members provide electric service to |
19 |
| more than 600,000 Illinoisans, located in 86 Illinois counties; |
20 |
| and
|
21 |
| WHEREAS, Before assuming responsibilities as the |
|
|

| Association's CEO, he was responsible for directing the |
2 |
| governmental affairs program for Illinois electric |
3 |
| cooperatives at the State and national level; prior to joining |
4 |
| the AIEC, he served on the legislative staff of the Illinois |
5 |
| Farm Bureau; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Struck was well-known in the State House and |
7 |
| was a former Speaker of the Illinois Third House, the |
8 |
| organization of all Illinois lobbyists; he served on a variety |
9 |
| of national electric cooperative committees and task forces, as |
10 |
| well as several advisory committees to the Illinois General |
11 |
| Assembly; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, Earl Struck served on the Governor's Commission to |
13 |
| Study Property Tax Reform and on the Blue Ribbon Commission to |
14 |
| Study Elementary and Secondary Public Education Finance; and |
15 |
| WHEREAS, Earl Struck was a member of the Shriners and a |
16 |
| member of the Masonic Lodge; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, Earl Struck was preceded in death by his parents; |
18 |
| the passing of Earl Struck will be deeply felt by all those who |
19 |
| knew and loved him, especially his wife, Sherry; his daughter, |
20 |
| Amy (Mark) Kluemke; his sons, William Struck and Brad Winn; his |
21 |
| grandchildren, Drew Kluemke, Anna Kluemke, Leah Kluemke, |
22 |
| Peyton Struck, and Allison Struck; his brother, William (Kathy) |

| Struck; his mother-in-law, Irene Fonger; his sister-in-law, |

| Marilyn (David) Walker; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, |

| nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
5 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
6 |
| mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Earl |
7 |
| Struck; and be it further
|
8 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
9 |
| presented to the family of Earl Struck as an expression of our |
10 |
| sympathy.
