Administrative Code of Illinois. Requires the Department to establish a program for grants to women entrepreneurs. Provides for nominations and for a grant of $5,000 to 10 nominated individuals.

| AN ACT concerning State government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic |
5 |
| Opportunity Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
6 |
| amended by adding Section 605-513 as follows: |
7 |
| (20 ILCS 605/605-513 new) |

| Sec. 605-513. Grant program for women entrepreneurs. |
9 |
| (a) The Department must establish and maintain a program to |
10 |
| make grants to women entrepreneurs. Under the program, the |
11 |
| Department must annually collect nominations of potential |
12 |
| grant recipients from local chambers of commerce in the State. |
13 |
| The nominations must be submitted in the form and manner |
14 |
| required by the Department and must contain any information |
15 |
| reasonably required by the Department for the purpose of |
16 |
| awarding grants. From the nominations, the Department must |
17 |
| award a grant in the amount of $5,000 to 10 nominated |
18 |
| individuals. |

| (b) The Department must adopt any rule necessary for the |
20 |
| administration of this Section.
