SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Nancy June Scaife Beatty of
4Springfield, who passed away on March 7, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Nancy Beatty was born in Springfield to William
6A. and Florence Bessie Maurer on December 19, 1928; she
7graduated from Springfield High School and attended Brown's
8Business College; she married Donald Lee Beatty; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Nancy Beatty worked at the Federated Funeral
10Directors in Springfield; she retired in 1992 from the
11Illinois State Senate as a legislative secretary after more
12than 20 years of service; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Nancy Beatty Nancy was a member of West Side
14Christian Church and the Red Hat Society; she enjoyed
15traveling and arts and crafts; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Nancy Beatty was preceded in death by her
17husband, Donald, and her son, Thomas Scaife; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Nancy Beatty is survived by her children, Rick
19(Cathy) Scaife and Steven (Sue) Scaife; her stepchildren,
20Dianne (Ed) Leach, Bonnie (Dave) Willis, Brian (Deb) Beatty,

1and Susan (Mark) Hurley; her grandchildren, Todd (Angela)
2Scaife, Andrea (Jason) Jordan, Chad Scaife, Ashley (Chris)
3Calhoun, Courtney (Danny) McGee, Jessica (Scott) Scaife, and
4Joshua (Cheyenne) Scaife; her 16 step-grandchildren; her 57
5great-grandchildren; her brother, William C. Maurer; and
6several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Nancy June Scaife Beatty and extend our sincere condolences to
10her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Nancy Beatty as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
