SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Roger Eugene Clarke of Milan, who
4passed away on September 13, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Roger Clarke was born to Melvin and Lenabelle
6(Likely) Clarke in Moline on July 2, 1939; he graduated from
7Reynolds High School and served in the U.S. Navy; he married
8Sharon R. Samuelson in Rock Island on September 29, 1967; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Roger Clarke was a member of Laborers Local #309,
10and he spent the majority of his career working for Normoyle &
11Berg; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Roger Clarke enjoyed racing, playing softball,
13and fishing for walleye; above all else, he cherished his
14family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Roger Clarke was preceded in death by his
17parents; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Roger Clarke is survived by his wife; his
19children, Sherri (Andy) Sanquist, Scott (Michelle) Clarke, and
20Jimmy (Ginger Kimmel) Clarke; 12 grandchildren; nine

1great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Larry Clarke and
2Beverly DeBackere; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Roger Eugene Clarke and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Roger Clarke as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
