SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Bruce Howard Balonick, who passed away
4on March 21, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bruce Balonick was born on October 22, 1948; he
6met his wife, Marcia (Wolfberg) Balonick, in Colorado; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Bruce Balonick had a successful career as a
8lawyer, and he was the most trusted advisor to his wife and his
9clients; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Bruce Balonick shared his wife's passion for
11politics; he was a fierce advocate for social justice issues
12and attended many events of the nonpartisan advocacy group,
13the JAC, where his wife serves as the executive director; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Bruce Balonick was affectionately known as
15"BruPa", and he cherished his role as a husband, father,
16grandfather, uncle, and friend; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Bruce Balonick loved spending time with his
18family; he was the most supportive sports fan to his
19grandchildren, his grandnieces and grandnephews, and even his
20friends' children; and

1    WHEREAS, Bruce Balonick was best known for his moves on
2the ski slopes and the joy it brought him to ski with family
3and friends; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Bruce Balonick will be remembered for his dynamic
5personality and his kind, loving, and easygoing nature; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Bruce Balonick was the husband of Marcia
7(Wolfberg) Balonick for over 50 years; the father of Joshua L.
8(Mindy) Balonick and Annie (Marc) Atlas; the grandfather of
9Aubrey, Brooke, Luke, Marlee, and Griffin; the uncle and
10great-uncle to many; the brother of Leslie (Casey) Radkiewicz
11and the late Stacy (the late Michael) Rago; the brother-in-law
12of Brian (the late Linda) Wolfberg and Bernard (Laura)
13Wolfberg; and the son of the late Melvin and June Balonick;
14therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Bruce Howard Balonick and extend our sincere condolences to
18his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Bruce Balonick as an expression of
