SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Raymond L. Bennett of Rock Island, who
4passed away on November 17, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Raymond Bennett was born to Parker Leonard and
6Emily E. (Gruber) Bennett in Clinton, Iowa on March 9, 1921; he
7served in the U.S. Army during World War II; he married Mabel
8Stoneburner in East Moline on October 20, 1946; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Raymond Bennett worked for 42 years as a machine
10operator for John Deere Harvester; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Raymond Bennett was a charter member of St.
12Matthew Lutheran Church in Milan; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Raymond Bennett enjoyed RV camping, reading,
14gardening, and nature walks; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Raymond Bennett was preceded in death by his wife;
16his parents; his siblings and brothers-in-law and
17sisters-in-law, Floyd (Janet) Bennett, Iola (Ray) Hammelman,
18Helen (Wendell) Coats, Louise (Jake) Hardi, and Alice Bennett;
19and his daughter-in-law, Carol Bennett; and

1    WHEREAS, Raymond Bennett is survived by his children, Larry
2Bennett, Rik (Paula) Bennett, Jim Bennett, and Randy (Kelly)
3Bennett; his grandchildren, Kristin, Robin, Rachel, Kyle,
4Stephanie, Sarah, Jenna, and Evan; and his
5great-grandchildren, Davon, Brenden, Braden, Lydon, Leonard,
6Bennett, and Benjamin; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Raymond L. Bennett and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Raymond Bennett as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
