SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard J. "Rich" Ivnik of Springfield,
4who passed away on March 9, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rich Ivnik was born in Joliet to Michael Ivnik and
6Julia Konopek on January 16, 1927; he served in the U.S. Army
7during World War II and married Lucille "CeleAnn" McCarthy at
8the Cathedral of St. Raymond in Joliet on June 21, 1947; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Rich Ivnik worked as a systems analyst programmer
10for Caterpillar; he retired in 1983 after 33 years of service;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Rich Ivnik was a member of the Loyal Order of
13Moose, Knights of Columbus Council 364 (4th Degree), and Christ
14the King Parish; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and
15Joliet Catholic Academy sports and enjoyed fishing at several
16Wisconsin lakes; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Rich Ivnik was preceded in death by his son,
18Robert Ivnik; his parents; and his brothers, Robert, Edward,
19and Raymond Ivnik; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Rich Ivnik is survived by his wife of over 72

1years, CeleAnn; his daughters, Barbara J. (Richard) Lyons and
2Mary Jo (Jodi) Hendricksen; his daughter-in-law, Marie Ivnik;
3seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; therefore, be

5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Richard J. "Rich" Ivnik and extend our sincere condolences to
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Rich Ivnik as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
