SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Billy L. Butterfield of Springfield, who
4passed away on August 24, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Billy Butterfield was born in Owaneco to Harry and
6Loeva (Large) Butterfield on April 6, 1931; he married Georgia
7E. Rensman on October 11, 1958; he served in the U.S. Air Force
8during the Korean War; he was a resident of the Springfield
9area for over 60 years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Billy Butterfield was a member of Salisbury
11Christian Church; he volunteered at Lewis Memorial Christian
12Village for many years; he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals
13baseball fan and an Illini basketball fan; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Billy Butterfield was preceded in death by his
15parents, four siblings, and two great-grandchildren; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Billy Butterfield is survived by his wife,
17Georgia; his daughters, Diane (John D.) Wyatt and Karen (Jeff)
18Bersch; his 11 grandchildren; his five great-grandchildren;
19his brother, Charles (Jackie) Butterfield; and his several
20nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Billy L. Butterfield and extend our sincere condolences to his
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Billy Butterfield as an expression
8of our deepest sympathy.
