SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ronald E. "Ron" Kunkel of Rock Island,
4who passed away on August 18, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ron Kunkel was born in Aledo to Roscoe and Louise
6(Malone) Kunkel on July 29, 1936; he served as a paratrooper in
7the U.S. Army and married Judy Howell at Zion Lutheran Church
8on March 5, 1960; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Ron Kunkel retired from Case IH and Bonnett
10Wholesale Florist; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ron Kunkel loved spending time with his family,
12traveling, boating, and riding his motorcycle; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ron Kunkel was preceded in death by his mother and
14stepfather, Louise and Harold Steuart; his father and
15stepmother, Roscoe and Darlene Kunkel; his sister, Joyce Fry;
16his half sister, Judith Embry; and his half brothers, David and
17Leland Steuart; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ron Kunkel is survived by his wife, Judy; his
19children, Jeff (Julie) Kunkel, Cheryl Patterson, and Bradley
20(Veronica) Kunkel; his grandchildren, Tiffany, Tarah, Shyann,

1and Jesse; five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Robin
2Steuart; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Ronald E. "Ron" Kunkel and extend our sincere condolences to
6his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Ron Kunkel as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
