SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Thomas E. "Tom" Flynn of Long Grove, who
4passed away on June 18, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tom Flynn was born in Bloomington to John A. and
6Margaret A. Delmar Flynn on January 21, 1948; he attended
7Central Catholic High School, where he was an outstanding
8member of the football team; he also attended St. Joseph's
9College in Rensselaer, Indiana and the Worsham College of
10Mortuary Science; he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam
11War in combat services; he married Eleanor J. Cavallo on
12September 9, 1972; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Tom Flynn worked as a funeral director, a sales
14representative for the Wilbert Vault Company, and later in
15sports equipment sales; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Tom Flynn was preceded in death by his parents and
17his siblings, Patrick, Anne, James, and Timothy; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Tom Flynn is survived by his siblings, Margaret
19"Peggy" Flynn, Kathleen "Curly" Flynn, Michael (Jerrilyn)
20Flynn, and George (Irene) Flynn; his brother-in-law, David
21(Lisa) Dunn; his sister-in-law, Mary Jo Flynn; many nieces and

1nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews; and his special
2friend and VA counselor, Ed Kim; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Thomas E. "Tom" Flynn and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Tom Flynn as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
