SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Charles Conard "Chuck" Ludwig of
4Springfield, who passed away on April 16, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Chuck Ludwig was born in Effingham on June 3,
61943; he grew up in Sigel; he served in the U.S. Air Force from
71961 to 1965; he married Joyce Ann Clough on June 25, 1966; he
8moved to Springfield in 1991; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Chuck Ludwig farmed in Sigel and owned a
10bulldozing operation in Shelby County; he also served as a
11Sheriff's Deputy in Shelby County; he later served as a chief
12investigator for the Securities Department of the Illinois
13Secretary of State for many years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Chuck Ludwig was a member of the Sigel American
15Legion, the VFW, Blue Knights International, the Central
16Illinois Film Commission, the Toledo Masonic Lodge, and the
17Sigel Volunteer Fire Department; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Chuck Ludwig was preceded in death by his parents,
19Charles G. and Helen E. (Martin) Ludwig; his natural mother,
20Rose Levy; and his half-brother, Michael Levy; and

1    WHEREAS, Chuck Ludwig is survived by his wife, Joyce; his
2daughters, Charlotte (Tim) Habing and Cheryl (Hal) Croasmun;
3his sons, Chuck (Meredith) Ludwig and Chad (Caryn) Ludwig; his
410 grandchildren; his faithful and mighty dachshund, Max; his
5half-sister, Mary Ann Levy; his brother, Michael (Cathy)
6McMillan; his half-brother, Nick (Brenda) Levy; and his several
7nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Charles Conard "Chuck" Ludwig and extend our sincere
11condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
12him; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Chuck Ludwig as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
