SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Charles J. Baker of Silvis, who passed
4away on April 29, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Baker was born to Charles E. and Vita
6Maria (Crocitto) Baker in Cedar Falls, Iowa on April 16, 1947;
7he served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War and was
8thrilled to go on the Honor Flight a few years ago; he married
9Kathleen White in Cedar Falls on July 27, 1974; and
 
10    WHEREAS, After his time in the military, Charles Baker and
11his wife owned and operated a boarding/grooming service; his
12main career was racing horses for 21 years before going to work
13for Green Chevrolet selling cars; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Charles Baker enjoyed anything related to
15animals, gambling (particularly poker), and golfing; family
16was the most important thing to him, especially spending time
17with his grandchildren and watching their sporting events; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Charles Baker was preceded in death by his parents
19and his grandson, Jonathan Workman; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Charles Fulton is survived by his beloved wife,

1Kathy; his four daughters and sons-in-law, Tina Yarolem,
2Jennifer (Keith) Hooks, Breanna (Andrew) Allardyce, and Katie
3(Mike) Brooks; his ten grandchildren; his four
4great-grandchildren; his sisters and a brother-in-law, Jeanne
5Hammer and Joanne (Ray) Beninga; and his several nieces and
6nephews; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Charles J. Baker and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Charles Baker as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
