SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert J. Michna Sr. of Moline, who
4passed away on December 15, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Michna was born in Chicago to Joseph and
6Frances (Ciasto) Michna on April 20, 1939; he served in the
7U.S. Army during the Korean War and married Marie Ponzo in
8Chicago on November 6, 1965; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Michna worked at U.S. Steel in Chicago for
10over 50 years, retiring in 2000; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Michna was a member of St. Anne Catholic
12Church, where he served as a lector; his favorite times were
13special holidays and family celebrations; he was an avid
14Chicago sports fan and loved golf; he took great joy in
15attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events, horse
16shows, and dance performances; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Robert Michna is survived by his wife, Marie; his
18children, Bob (Trish) Michna, Michele (Jim) Beghtol, and Brett
19(Laura) Michna; his grandchildren, Austin, Alec, Aiden, and Ava
20Michna, Josh, Morgan, and Kate Beghtol, and Cole, Cade, and
21Teague Michna; his brother, Ron (Virginia) Michna; and his

1nephews, Richard and Justin Michna; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Robert J. Michna Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Robert Michna as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
