SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dorothy L. Taylor of Peoria, who passed
4away on November 1, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dorothy Taylor was born in Luxora, Arkansas to
6Robert and Ilar (Jenkins) Bonds on August 18, 1950; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Dorothy Taylor worked in code enforcement for the
8City of Peoria for over 40 years before retiring in 2012; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dorothy Taylor was a member of St. Paul Baptist
10Church in Peoria, where she sang and ministered with Women of
11Courage; along with her love of singing, she enjoyed dancing
12and spending time with her family and friends, especially her
13children and grandchildren; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Dorothy Taylor was preceded in death by her
15father; her son, Ernest Taylor Jr.; and her brothers, Edward
16Dean Bonds and Willie Bonds Jr.; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dorothy Taylor is survived by her mother, Ilar
18Bonds; her daughters, Ebonie Kelly and Yolonda Taylor; 14
19brothers and sisters; six grandchildren; 16
20great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces;

1therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Dorothy L. Taylor and extend our sincere condolences to her
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Dorothy Taylor as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
