SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Phillip D. "Phil" Murphy of East Moline,
4who passed away on October 7, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Phil Murphy was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Fred
6and Mary (Krehel) Murphy on November 6, 1926; he served in the
7U.S. Navy during World War II and married Laura I. Baldwin at
8St. Anne Catholic Church in East Moline on April 16, 1955; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Phil Murphy was an engineer for the Rock Island
10and the B&O railroads; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Phil Murphy was a member of Christ the King
12Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Phil Murphy was preceded in death by his wife,
14Laura; his parents; his daughter, Laurenda Salisberry; and his
15brother, Donny Murphy; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Phil Murphy is survived by his sons, Lloyd (Carol)
17and Lyle (Lori) Murphy; his daughter, Linda Murphy; his sister,
18Sherry (Bob) Phelps; eight grandchildren; numerous great and
19great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Phillip D. "Phil" Murphy and extend our sincere condolences to
4his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Phil Murphy as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
