SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Milan Kajfez of Waukegan, who passed away
4on July 27, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Milan Kajfez was born in Banja Loka, Slovenia,
6Yugoslavia to Matija and Katarina (Marinc) Kajfez on July 8,
71929; he immigrated to the U.S. in 1951 and settled in
8Waukegan; he married Dolores "Tookie" Sutinis at Immaculate
9Conception Catholic Church in 1959; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Milan Kajfez became a dental technician and owner
11of Waukegan Dental Laboratory; he was an active member and
12past-president of the Illinois Dental Lab Association; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Milan Kajfez treated his employees like family and
14hosted regular volleyball games and cook outs for them; he and
15his wife enjoyed hosting social gatherings in their yard; he
16enjoyed the outdoors and woodworking and was an avid gardener,
17tennis player, hunter, and fisherman; his greatest legacy was
18his family; in 2018, he took a "trip of a lifetime" to visit
19his homeland; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Milan Kajfez was preceded in death by his parents
21and 13 siblings; and

1    WHEREAS, Milan Kajfez is survived by his wife of 60 years,
2Dolores; his children, Laura (Chris Messer) Kajfez, Mark
3(Diane) Kajfez, and Lisa (Michael) May; his sister, Cveta
4(Stefan) Stojko; his grandchildren, Tony Kajfez, Samantha
5Kajfez, James Epperson, Olivia Kajfez, Evan Epperson, Adam
6Messer, and Paul Messer; and numerous nieces and nephews in
7Slovenia and Germany; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Milan Kajfez and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
11friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Milan Kajfez as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
