SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Benjamin F. "Ben" Truby of Waukegan, who
4passed away on April 6, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ben Truby was born on January 16, 1922; he served
6in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific
7aboard the destroyer escort USS Burden R. Hastings; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ben Truby was employed at Houdaille Hershey,
9Johnson Motors, and Outboard Marine; he retired from AMCO
10tools; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ben Truby was a former member of St. Paul's
12Lutheran Church in Waukegan; he enjoyed gardening, wood
13working, bird watching, and card playing; he logged many miles
14walking in the Lake County Forest Preserves and in his
15neighborhood; he especially enjoyed fishing for perch on
16Waukegan's North Pier; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Ben Truby was preceded in death by his wife of 51
18years, LaVerne; his parents; and six siblings; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Ben Truby is survived by his sons, Trent (Susan),
20Todd, and Thomas (Carol); two granddaughters; four

1step-granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren; therefore,

3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Benjamin F. "Ben" Truby and extend our sincere condolences to
6his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Ben Truby as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
