SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Janice Goben of Petersburg, formerly of
4Kilbourne, who passed away on April 10, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Janice Goben was born in Oakford to Julius "Chub"
6and Effie Vaughn on March 24, 1934; she graduated from
7Kilbourne High School in 1952; she married Cleveland Goben in
8Kilbourne on October 14, 1955; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Janice Goben worked for the Department of
10Transportation, Highways Division, for five years; she was a
11cook in the Kilbourne Grade School cafeteria for 25 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Janice Goben was a member of the Methodist Church
13in Oakford and Kilbourne in her youth; in her later years, she
14regularly attended the Petersburg United Methodist Church;
15more than anything, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren and
16great-grandchildren grow up; she was a wonderful mother,
17grandmother, and "Great-Gammy"; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Janice Goben was preceded in death by her parents;
19her sisters, Marilyn Blakeley and Shirley Daniel; and her
20brother, Jack Vaughn; and

1    WHEREAS, At the time of her death, Janice Goben was
2survived by her children, Sally Cline and Dave (Vicki) Goben;
3her granddaughters, Abbey (Ben) Venturini and Hayley Cline and
4Patience and Caroline Goben; her great-granddaughters, Tessa
5and Nina Venturini; her identical twin sister, Joyce
6Atterberry; her brother Roger (Judi) Vaughn; her many nieces
7and nephews; and her dog, Mario; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Janice Goben and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
11friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Janice Goben as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
