SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Geraldine Harps on February 13, 2019; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Geraldine Harps was born to the union of Walter
5and Mattie L. Jones on January 14, 1952 in Chicago; she was the
6eldest of five children; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Geraldine Harps received her childhood education
8at Goodrich Elementary School and Richard T. Crane; she
9graduated from St. Mary Catholic High School in Chicago; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Geraldine Harps worked in the medical field her
11entire life and was a very active member of Living Word
12Christian Center and New Life Covenant Church for many years;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, Geraldine Harps dedicated her life to serving
15others and was committed and devoted to her faith; she was a
16loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt and a dear
17friend to others; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Geraldine Harps was united in Holy Matrimony to
19Robert F. Harps on July 07, 2007; and

1    WHEREAS, Geraldine Harps is survived by her children,
2Melisa (Marshall), Willie III (Brunlida), and Mattie; her
3sisters and brothers, Nadine (Johnny), Patricia (Samuel),
4Walter (Gloria), and Solomon (Angela); her grandchildren,
5Jaleesa, Jasmine, Jernell, Ryishie, Renisha, Willie IV,
6Rayven, Ryan, Taniya, and Marissa (Elijah); her 13
7great-grandchildren; as well as many relatives and dear
8friends; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Geraldine Harps and extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Geraldine Harps as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
