SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mark Joseph Gallagher of Beach Park, who
4passed away on October 8, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark Gallagher was born in Waukegan to James E.
6and Mary Jean (Bure) Gallagher on January 26, 1956; he
7graduated from Carmel High School in Mundelein; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mark Gallagher was a respected ironworker, honing
9his world renowned welding skills in the shipyards of
10Pascagoula, Mississippi in the 1970s before becoming a lifelong
11fixture in his family's business at North Chicago Iron Works in
12North Chicago; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Mark Gallagher volunteered at Public Action to
14Deliver Shelter (PADS) and was a member of the North Chicago
15Lions Club; he enjoyed spending time with his friends and
16family, tinkering with old cars and motorcycles, fishing,
17bowling, gardening, puzzles, playing Scrabble, cards,
18listening to jazz music, and murder mysteries; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Mark Gallagher was preceded in death by his
20parents; and

1    WHEREAS, Mark Gallagher is survived by his wife, Darlene
2(Salimitari); his former spouse, Julie (Robbins); his
3children, Steven (Cristi), Christopher, Sarah (Caleb), and
4Megan (Chris); his stepdaughters, Deatrice, Candice, and
5Sarah; his grandchildren, Cassidy, Taylor, Robbie, Olivia,
6Christopher, Cody, and Connor; and an assortment of nieces,
7nephews, siblings, and other extended family; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Mark Joseph Gallagher and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Mark Gallagher as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
