SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dr. Harold Axel Nord of Bloomington, who
4passed away on June 8, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Nord was born in Bloomington to Dr. Stanley K.
6and Sudie M. Whitinghill Nord on September 23, 1955; he
7graduated from Normal Community High School in 1973, Illinois
8State University, and the University of Illinois Medical
9School; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dr. Nord was an OB-GYN in the Bloomington-Normal
11community for 31 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dr. Nord enjoyed spending time with his family,
13serving in his church, working the mission field in Northern
14Haiti for 23 years, and caring for his patients; he will be
15remembered as a man of peace, whose gentle and kind spirit
16touched many lives; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dr. Nord was preceded in death by his parents; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dr. Nord is survived by his wife, Debbie; his
19children, Melissa (Tom) Waterson, Matt (Mellisa) Nord, and Mike
20(Emily) Nord; his grandchildren, Ernie Waterson, Ruthie

8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Dr. Harold Axel Nord and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Dr. Nord as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
