SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Phyllis R. (Joost) McAuliffe of Marengo,
4who passed away on March 31, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Phyllis McAuliffe was born in Evanston to Paul and
6Emma (Busse) Joost on October 23, 1939; she earned a Bachelor
7of Science in Business Education; she married Thomas J.
8McAuliffe in Marengo on June 22, 1963; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Phyllis McAuliffe worked at Brandt's Pharmacy in
10Marengo for 27 years; she was the on-site manager at Highway 20
11Self Storage in Marengo from 2001 until 2018; she also spent
12many years as an independent sales associate for both
13Tupperware and the Longaberger Company; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Phyllis McAuliffe trained with the Stephen
15Ministry, was involved with the Prayer Shawl Ministry, and was
16an active member of the Evening Women's Guild at St. Paul
17Lutheran Church in Harvard; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Phyllis McAuliffe was preceded in death by her
19husband, Thomas; her brother-in-law, Richard; and her
20sister-in-law, Janet; and

1    WHEREAS, Phyllis McAuliffe is survived by her children,
2Shawn D. (Shawn M.) McAuliffe and Kristi McAuliffe; her
3grandchildren, Troy (Kelsey) McAuliffe and Haleigh (fiance
4Nate Griffith) McAuliffe; her great-grandchild, Lila Reese
5McAuliffe; her sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and John
6Fleener; her nephew, Brian (Terri) McAuliffe; her niece, Andrea
7(Tim) Stephenson; and her great-nieces and nephews, Kimberly
8and Taylor McAuliffe and Alex and Abbey Stephenson; therefore,
9be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Phyllis R. (Joost) McAuliffe and extend our sincere condolences
13to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
14it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Phyllis McAuliffe as an expression
17of our deepest sympathy.
