SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn about the death of George T. Fehrenbacher, DDS of Joliet,
4who passed away on April 14, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, George Fehrenbacher was born in Joliet to Frank
6and Mary (Blunk) Fehrenbacher on February 26, 1927; he
7graduated from St. Patrick's Grade School and Joliet Catholic
8High School; he joined the United States Coast Guard and was a
9proud veteran of World War II; upon discharge from the
10military, he attended St. Joseph College in Rensselear, Indiana
11for two years and then continued his undergraduate education at
12Loyola University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in
13History; he married Eileen K. Kezerle in 1952; in 1954, he
14graduated from the Loyola University School of Dentistry; and
 
15    WHEREAS, George Fehrenbacher returned to Joliet and joined
16his father and uncle in their dental practice; he retired in
171988; during retirement, he and his wife operated Old Ground
18Antiques in Plainfield; and
 
19    WHEREAS, George Fehrenbacher was an active member of his
20community and profession; he was a Big Brother and was active
21in fundraising for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Will County; he
22was a devout Catholic, a proponent of Catholic education, and

1an active member of the Joliet Catholic Alumni Association; he
2was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and a
3former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he served
4as an usher; he volunteered his professional services through
5the Salvation Army of Chicago and volunteered his time at the
6St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Food Pantry; and
 
7    WHEREAS, George Fehrenbacher enjoyed traveling, especially
8to Ireland, reading novels and the New Yorker magazine,
9golfing, and spending time with his family; he will be
10remembered for his compassion and generosity; and
 
11    WHEREAS, George Fehrenbacher was preceded in death by his
12parents; his wife, Eileen; and his brothers, John and Fritz
13Fehrenbacher; and
 
14    WHEREAS, George Fehrenbacher is survived by his daughters,
15Saran Fehrenbacher, Nancy (Bill) Fitzgerald, Julie
16Fehrenbacher, and Laura (Christopher "Kit") Kreid; his
17grandchildren, Emily and Christopher Kreid; his sisters, JoAnn
18(Tom) Sprague, Marian (Dick) Leaman, and Jane (Dick Talbot)
19Fehrenbacher); and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be
20it
 
21    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
22ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

2to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
3it further
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5presented to the family of George Fehrenbacher as an expression
