SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Paula M.E. Hafner of Normal, who passed
4away on April 4, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Paula Hafner was born in Toronto, Canada to Paul
6B.H. and Margaret (Dunn) Smith on December 28, 1946; she earned
7her Master of Arts in Elementary Education; she married Fred
8Hafner in Peoria on August 30, 1969; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Paula Hafner was a teacher; she later started her
10own business, and then continued her work at State Farm, where
11she retired after 20 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Paula Hafner volunteered at many local schools;
13she served those in need and showered her family and friends
14with love; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Paula Hafner was preceded in death by her
16daughter, Rachel; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Paula Hafner is survived by her husband, Fred; her
18sons, F.J. and Patrick (Heather); her grandchildren, Maya,
19Tyre, Haleigh, Keewan, Hannah, Alejandra, Hayes, and Declan;
20her great-grandchildren, Marquan, Ja'Quan, and Elijah; her

1sister, Anne Carignan; and her daughter-in-law, Tracy Hafner;
2therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Paula M.E. Hafner and extend our sincere condolences to her
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Paula Hafner as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
