SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Eugene Mark "Gene" Baseggio of Crystal
4Lake, who passed away on March 10, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gene Baseggio was born in Gary, Indiana to Gino
6and Ann (Valsi) Baseggio on September 25, 1947; he grew up in
7Crystal Lake and attended St. Thomas the Apostle; he graduated
8from Crystal Lake Central High School in 1965; after
9graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was
10honorably discharged in 1968; he married Patricia Smith at St.
11Thomas the Apostle in Crystal Lake on May 5, 1973; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Gene Baseggio worked for the McHenry County
13Sheriff's Department; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Gene Baseggio was an avid fan of music, carpentry,
15cooking, and shopping local garage sales; he never met a
16challenge that scared him away; from fixing cars to building
17and remodeling houses, he could not wait to roll up his sleeves
18and get to work; he was driven by curiosity, and he genuinely
19enjoyed helping others; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Gene Baseggio was preceded in death by his parents
21and his sister-in-law, Terri; and

1    WHEREAS, Gene Baseggio is survived by his wife, Patricia;
2his sons, Mark, Brent (Kellie), and Todd (Jordanne); his
3grandchildren, Alena, Bradley, Blake, Brice, Brecklyn, and
4Noah; and his brother, Tom; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Eugene Mark "Gene" Baseggio and extend our sincere condolences
8to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
9it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Gene Baseggio as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
