SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James Lawrence "Jim" Mateja of
4Lindenhurst, who passed away on January 30, 2017 at the age of
571; and
 
6    WHEREAS, James Mateja married Susan L. Jeschke in Grayslake
7on August 14, 1965; and
 
8    WHEREAS, James Mateja was the founder and past President of
9the Midwest Automotive Media Association; he wrote two books in
10which he was the sole author, and one which he co-authored; and
 
11    WHEREAS, James Mateja was a longtime parishioner of St.
12Patrick Catholic Church in Wadsworth; he had a deep love for
13his family; and
 
14    WHEREAS, James Mateja was preceded in death by his parents,
15Frank and Mary (Mesec) Mateja; his son-in-law, Christopher
16Winiewicz; and his grandchildren, Peyton Mateja, and Haylie
17Winiewicz; and
 
18    WHEREAS, James Mateja is survived by his wife of 51 years,
19Susan "The Bottle Blonde"; his "#1 Son", Brad (Lori) Mateja;
20his twin daughters, "Twin #1" Gina Winiewicz, and "Twin #2"

2his brothers, Gerald (Louanne) Mateja, and Phillip (Judith)

5Slotkus; and his nieces and nephews, Marilyn Drennan, Rick
6Mateja, Karen Kraus, Scott Mateja, Cheryl Mateja, Jeffrey
7Mateja, Kerri Allen, Courtney Allen, Todd Washburn, and Stacey
8Beshel; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11James Lawrence "Jim" Mateja, and extend our sincere condolences
12to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
13it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of James Mateja as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
