HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Cary-Grove High 
4School football team, the Trojans, on winning the 2018 Illinois 
5High School Association Class 6A State Football Championship; 
6and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, In the past ten seasons, from 2009 to 2018, the 
8Trojans have played in the Class 6A statewide championship game 
9four times; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Playing at the University of Illinois' Memorial 
11Stadium, the Trojans defeated Crete-Monee High School for the 
12statewide Class 6A championship on November 24, 2018, notching 
13a dominating performance with a final score of 35 to 13; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, In a championship-game drive which chewed up much 
15of the third quarter and a piece of the fourth quarter, the 
16Trojans consumed 11:19 minutes of clock time, covering 90 yards 
17in 20 plays to maintain their lead and dishearten their 
18opponents; the entire offense joined in the drive, a powerful 
19demonstration of team play; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, The Trojans are led by Head Coach Brad Seaburg and 
21senior quarterback Ben McDonald; and

1    WHEREAS, The Trojans have added new hardware to their 
2trophy case; the new honor will join the Class 6A championship 
3trophy they  won in 2009; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
5HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6congratulate the Cary-Grove High School football team, the 
7Trojans, on winning the 2018 Illinois High School Association 
8Class 6A State Football Championship; and be it further
 
  
9    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
10presented to Coach Seaburg and the Trojans as a symbol of our 
11respect and esteem.
